This concludes thesting phase of my Utterz recordings. Without too much trouble, I can post an audio message to my peeps; one on the blog and one to the feed. I think I might be in love.

From the Train

At one stop away from Walpole station, I am tapping out a quick blog entry to prove once again to myself that switching to WordPress was the right move. In a moment, I’ll be posting an Utter as well to prove this new integration even further. I’m hoping that soon, I’ll be integrating with you too.

Josh Mormann is taking a break…

Hi Everybody,

I’ve been pretty under the weather lately, and I’ve narrowed it down to a few things, but mainly I just don’t get enough sleep, and I do too much without proper diet or exercise. I’m healthier than some maybe, but I really need to get back on track before I can really begin to move forward with the show. I have plans to turn the show into something more listenable and universal, I want to bring the show to a larger audience, and in order to do that I have a lot of planning to do, and I really don’t have that kind of time to begin with, let alone when I’m trying to put a show out regularly.

So, I’m going to be seeing doctors, and dentists, and personal trainers, and I’m looking to find a new place as well, so I’ll be working on getting myself back in order for a while, and then I’ll work out a better format for the show.

I will record episodes periodically when I can get a good one together, but a regular schedule will probably not be possible until the end of the summer, or mid Autumn. Please feel free to comment on the show notes, or call in on the line, and try to spur me on here and there. I can be pushed to do a show for you now and then, if you are persistent with me.

If you have great things you want me to cover, let me know. I’d be happy to cover your projects, and/or any news you find particularly interesting. I will however be mostly on hiatus for the immediate future, and until I can get some personal items in order.

Mysterious Universe looks like it’s drawing to a close too, so I feel that maybe Benjamin Grundy’s winding down is having a bit of an affect on me.

Thanks for all your downloading, and your comments, and suggestions, and encouragement. I haven’t left, but I will be cutting way back for a while. I will be talking to you again soon. Don’t you worry.

All the best,

- Josh Mormann

The JMS 120: Got a Zip, But Found No Zoom!

I spend all afternoon driving a rented Zip car around trying to pick up a Zoom H4 field recorder with no luck. this is the kind of show that would/did ensue due to such crap.

Episode 120 was never exported to MP3, and ended up getting recorded over, long story, but basically, there is no 120. I will instead be recording a new 120 tomorrow night, and therefore 120 will be delivered after 121. Just for fun I guess. I think it will be fun.

Grab Today While You Can!

Hidy Ho New Englanders!

Today is the last warm day of April before its showers begin to bring the May flowers (or bring in May showers as per typical). I suggest you take a walk at lunch time today rather than eat lunch at your usual Thursday haunt. It will be well worth the fresh air you will take into your lungs.

I still feel a might sick from the past few days. I’m sure I shouldn’t have moved furniture, sucked up dust, and slept so few hours for Monday, but such is what happens. I’m hoping today’s weather does me, and all of us a bit of good.

If you can’t get out today, take a look at Jueno’s Flickr set Naturey Crap, it will make you feel better.

Delays, Delays, Delays

Sorry guys, I was too beer-sleepy last night to post the show. It was however recorded, and edited. I will post it tonight, with the Friday Night show. No pubbing before hand. I promise.

The JMS 111: No Palindrome Party :-/

No Palindromic Party for me tonight, but I record the show anyway! I am back to my standard rambling about whatever.

I answer Drew’s question for audio software, and also offer up some advice for which podcasting niche to work in.

Here are some links man:
* CastBlaster
* Audacity
* Podiobooks
* JC Hutchins
* Scott Sigler (I said Sig Sigler oops)

Well I kinda go off about social media website publicity, and how no one really helps his or her friends in their promotional efforts. I explain Alexa.com and install their tool bar to help explain how big of a deal Digg is. But it doesn’t seem to matter how “important” a site is. How can I expect anyone to Digg my brother’s videos, or podcast episodes when I don’t bother going to parties, or functions announced by friends and/or acquaintances on Facebook or Myspace? The truth is, we are all too busy, but I don’t think any of us know the power of a click or two in sites like Digg, or Stumbleupon, or others. Most people I know don’t even know what Digg.com is, let alone, have the desire to cast a vote on such a site for a friend’s project. The truth is though, 200+ positive votes on Digg from from your closer circle of influence, would be enough to put someone you know on the map, and get national recognition, and sometimes that’s the only thing missing ingredient your friend needs for his/her dream career. I personally want to be able to promote my friends in this way, and this is the whole purpose for, and genesis of Click Nation Army. Join me if you’re interested in the same goals.

The JMS [NO SHOW]: Great St Patrick’s Day

I hope you all had a great St Paddy’s Day like I did. Two pints of Guinness with Brigid at the Asgard in Cambridge. Good times, good times.

The JMS 105: All that Talk About Better Episodes?

Something of a Friday Episode. My week dragged. I promise a good show Saturday, but I’ve decided not to post that episode. If you want it you’ll have to ask me for it, and I’ll post the MP3 somewhere for you ;)
