Josh Utterz: Monday After Work

This concludes thesting phase of my Utterz recordings. Without too much trouble, I can post an audio message to my peeps; one on the blog and one to the feed. I think I might be in love.

Josh Utterz: Monday Morning

This is pretty wild, I’m not sure exactly what I’m doing wrong, but I can’t just create an “Utter” and have it be a part of my feed. I have to manually come in, and force the entry to make an “enclosure” for the Utterz MP3 file. Using a Plugin I found last night. It’s still pretty easy to use though. I just have to do a couple things, and I have a post ready to go.

So it’s not totally smooth… Big deal. It’s smoother, and that’s better than not as smooth ;)

Well, it took a while, but I’m back at it. I have got some new digs goin on here at the joshmormann.com and I’m kinda likin it. I hope you like it. I’m keeping this pre-made template as is for a while too, because I like it… as is.

I catch up on a bunch of things, but first things first, here’s the show file:

The JMS 143: Go See Hancock

In this one, I encourage you to all see Hancock, and advise that you ignore much of the negative reviews, because I saw nothing wrong with how the movie takes a turn. I had a couple nitpick issues with wardrobe in one scene, and about 15 seconds could have been removed from the end, and all would have been well, or they could have added 15 seconds to explain those 15 seconds, and that would have been fine, but other than that… I thought it was fun, and delivered on what I expected and more.

Music Played:
* Clean by Depeche Mode
* The Caterpillar by The Cure

The JMS 142: Go See Wall-E

I agree with the public opinion on this one. Pixar has done it yet again. I loved Wall-E. And in the process of seeing it, I caught the previews for some potentially great new films coming up later this year.

Movies Mentioned
* Wall-E
* Meet Dave
* Bolt
* Tale of Despereaux
* Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Music Played:
* Rose Colored Rose, and Paper Dolls by The Glib

The JMS 141: Is I Is?

This is a quiet and short show. I’m sad. I’ve been painfully honest about a delicate situation, and hurt someone I care very much for in the process. And although I don’t mention it in the show, part of the discontent on my end is due the high probability that I have handled the situation in such a way that it will for a time be more complicated that should have been made by my actions.

Nevertheless, the music is good.

Music Played:
* I Palindrome I by They Might Be Giants
* Eleanor Put Your Boots Back On by Franz Ferdinand
* So. Central Rain (I’m sorry) by R.E.M.

The JMS 140: Scaring Mormons, and Preaching The Kindle

I just got of the train after having been chatted up by a Missionary from LA. I think I scared him, and his companion (he showed up eventually). I don’t think they knew what hit them.

I am now part of the new religion of the The Amazon.com Kindle. It isn’t an electronic book reader that weighs about 10 oz; it’s an electronic bookstore that weighs about 10 oz.

* Kindle Intro Video
* Jeff Bezos on Charlie Rose Discussing the the Kindle
* Kindle Drop Test Video

Music Played:
* Policy of Truth by Depeche Mode
* Deep Dark Truthful Mirror

The JMS 139: Backity back

I’m back doing the show, but for the foreseeable, it’s going to be a weekly deal rather than a daily dribble exercise. My hope is to improve the quality of the show, make it worth while, and maybe get more professional in the process. So join me in the first of what I hope will eventually become a series of great new episodes. Fewer, and farther between, but better.

Josh Mormann is taking a break…

Hi Everybody,

I’ve been pretty under the weather lately, and I’ve narrowed it down to a few things, but mainly I just don’t get enough sleep, and I do too much without proper diet or exercise. I’m healthier than some maybe, but I really need to get back on track before I can really begin to move forward with the show. I have plans to turn the show into something more listenable and universal, I want to bring the show to a larger audience, and in order to do that I have a lot of planning to do, and I really don’t have that kind of time to begin with, let alone when I’m trying to put a show out regularly.

So, I’m going to be seeing doctors, and dentists, and personal trainers, and I’m looking to find a new place as well, so I’ll be working on getting myself back in order for a while, and then I’ll work out a better format for the show.

I will record episodes periodically when I can get a good one together, but a regular schedule will probably not be possible until the end of the summer, or mid Autumn. Please feel free to comment on the show notes, or call in on the line, and try to spur me on here and there. I can be pushed to do a show for you now and then, if you are persistent with me.

If you have great things you want me to cover, let me know. I’d be happy to cover your projects, and/or any news you find particularly interesting. I will however be mostly on hiatus for the immediate future, and until I can get some personal items in order.

Mysterious Universe looks like it’s drawing to a close too, so I feel that maybe Benjamin Grundy’s winding down is having a bit of an affect on me.

Thanks for all your downloading, and your comments, and suggestions, and encouragement. I haven’t left, but I will be cutting way back for a while. I will be talking to you again soon. Don’t you worry.

All the best,

- Josh Mormann
