The JMS 140: Scaring Mormons, and Preaching The Kindle

I just got of the train after having been chatted up by a Missionary from LA. I think I scared him, and his companion (he showed up eventually). I don’t think they knew what hit them.

I am now part of the new religion of the The Amazon.com Kindle. It isn’t an electronic book reader that weighs about 10 oz; it’s an electronic bookstore that weighs about 10 oz.

    You have pretty much sold me on the Kindle. The only thing that would have me ordering one RIGHT THIS MINUTE would be the ability to scan the ISBNs of books I already own and get them in Kindler form. Get on this, would you?

    And I wish I had been there to witness the exchange with the Missionary.

    I wish you could have been there too, to witness the exchange. The first guy was twice my height, but scared like a little boy when I had no concern for my soul, and yet was happy to talk to them.
