The JMS 113: Covering Tulsa
Posted by Josh | Filed under Reciprocal Affection, The Josh Mormann Show
A Saturday afternoon show. I cover a bit about Tulsa, a local band that in the Metro claims that they don’t sound like My Morning Jacket, or Band of Horses, as they are often sold to, so I put them to the test, and despite my assumptions, they really don’t. It’s pretty sad that a common vocal effect like reverb can be considered a legitimate tie-in for comparison. I don’t hear the similarities at all Tulsa is a lot less polished, and a lot grittier and harder than the bands they are most often compared to, and I find the comparison way off.
Music Played:
* Prelude by Dimitri from Paris
* Delauded by The Glib
* #2 by Tulsa
