Against some great worthwhile advice I purchased an Xbox 360 last night. Availability, controller battery life, xbox live, and many other features edged it out over the Wii, as much as I believe the Wii is worth owning, I decided on a 360.

In this article by Clay Shirky we get a historical insight on the Industrial Revolution, and what Shirky calls a Social Surplus, and how Major Media has capitalized on it for so long, that they don’t even realize how truly drug-like and dangerous they may have been all these years.
This is a great story, so I’m not going to re-hash it. I’d rather you take the time to give it a read.

The JMS 122: Brigid Tried Her Best to Save the Show

I got too pissed [at good people] mid show, to be a reasonable host. Brigid kept me in line, and balanced me wearing a white hat. Mine was darkened with dripping blood (as I think I put it at one point).
I started in good spirits, but I eventually slid to the point of inappropriate simmering piss-tivity, and I said things I really don’t mean, and I hope you’ll all forgive me. If it wasn’t for Brigid, I may have been way too out of sorts.
Basically I became a self-centered egotistical prick (which often happens with me) and I got upset over a CNA experiment, that didn’t go so well. Please don’t be offended by anything I say in this part towards the end. I’m upset by lack of results in general, and I am acting super angry for fun, but because I am truly disappointed, I think my fake “piss-tivity” comes through as genuine, and for that I’m deeply sorry. I love all my listeners, and members of the CNA, I can just go overboard at being an asshole from time to time.
